In-House Flammability Testing

08.1 Fact-Spring 2026_Sonic Burner for Oil Burner Testing of Seat Cushions.png

Duncan Aviation’s Engineering department is supported by in-house flammability testing for interior modifications. From 2024 to 2025, vertical flammability testing increased from 2,190 to 2,634 tests, while oil burner testing (FAR 25.853(c)) grew from 33 to 52 tests following its introduction in-house in late 2021. In 2025, the flammability lab supported 179 Duncan Aviation ODA (Organization Designation Authorization) and non-ODA projects—many associated with interior STCs (Supplemental Type Certificates) and interior modification programs—through coordinated test execution, project planning, and report documentation. This integrated capability allows interior modification and STC projects to progress with fewer external dependencies, helping customers maintain certification schedules and reduce disruption during interior refurbishment events. Momentum continues into 2026, with 10 active oil burner projects already underway in January.

Support Anywhere, Anytime

09.1 Fact-Spring 2026_96JulyDebrief-Duncan Direct Phone.png

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, when avionics issues arose away from home, pilots didn’t always have immediate access to technical support. Long before mobile phones were standard, Duncan Aviation created a program called Duncan Direct to help operators get answers quickly when they were at FBOs without avionics services.

Working with dozens of FBOs nationwide, we installed dedicated phone kiosks in flight planning rooms and lobbies—providing one-touch access to Duncan Aviation Avionics Technical Representatives. Pilots could receive free troubleshooting support, schedule repairs or overhauls, and arrange shipment of no-charge loaner units simply by picking up the phone and pressing a single red button.

Today, we support operators in the field with AOG services for airframe, engine, avionics and parts through the red AOG button on our website at DuncanAviation.aero.
