Mandatory Service Bulletin Issued for Garmin G1000 Software Update

November 2024

G1000-nxi.jpgGarmin released mandatory SB (Service Bulletin) No.: 24064 Rev A on September 19, 2024, to address important updates to the flight deck software installed in Beechcraft King Air models 200, 200C, A200, A200CT, B200, B200C, B200GT, and B200CGT aircraft.

The G1000® NXi Flight Deck System Software update, authorized under Supplemental Type Certificate SA01535WI-D, targets the software installed as part of the original flight deck upgrade.

This SB must be complied with at the next maintenance interval or annual inspection, no later than March 31, 2025.

Key Software Enhancements

The software update brings the following enhancements:

  1. GPS Antenna Offset Correction: The new version adjusts the GPS antenna offset, bringing it to the center of navigation, which improves vertical guidance accuracy.
  2. EAL (Enhanced Emergency Autoland) Navigation: For aircraft equipped with EAL, the update includes improvements in loading and following the EAL flight plan.
  3. Autothrottle equipped aircraft: Improves fuel estimates and waypoint distances.

Why This Matters

The new software version delivers improvements for aircraft equipped with advanced navigation and safety features such as EAL and Autothrottle. Operators will experience more precise navigation, better emergency flight planning, and improved fuel estimates. By following the guidance provided in this Service Bulletin, fleets will continue to operate at peak performance with enhanced safety features.
