The ELPS (Emergency Light Power Supplies), part numbers 7450LS-00 or PN 6450LS-00, on Phenom 300 and Praetor aircraft may occasionally fail between scheduled capacity tests.
A common sign of failure is when the emergency lights remain illuminated for more than a few seconds while the switch is in the ARM position. This could indicate a circuitry failure in one of the ELPS, causing the system to stop charging and activate the lights.
Simple troubleshooting steps outlined in the FIM (Fault Isolation Manual) can help pinpoint whether the fault lies within the ELPS and identify the affected unit.
Another indication could be flickering lights. While this may just mean the batteries are in a low state of charge, it could also signal that they are nearing the end of their lifespan. Again, following the FIM will lead to the correct resolution.
