The Current Aftermarket For The Bombardier Global 5000 Business Jet

May 2026

The Bombardier Global 5000 remains one of the most compelling values in the long-range business jet market. Although production ended in 2019—when Bombardier introduced the newer Global 5500—the aircraft continues to be highly sought after by corporate flight departments, charter operators, and private owners looking for large-cabin capability without the price of newer flagship jets.

With its combination of range, cabin size, and performance, the Global 5000 occupies a unique position: it offers many of the capabilities of larger ultra-long-range jets at a fraction of their acquisition cost.

Current Market Snapshot

The Global 5000 fleet includes approximately 232 aircraft, with about 6.5% typically listed for sale at any given time. That equates to roughly 15 aircraft available on the global market, depending on the month.

This level of inventory suggests a healthy but not oversupplied market, allowing quality aircraft to sell steadily when priced correctly.

Across current listings, the overall market range runs from roughly $9 million on early aircraft to about $20 million for late-production examples with low time and strong maintenance coverage.

Market Trends

Like most business aircraft, the Global 5000 experienced a significant increase in demand during the COVID-era private aviation boom from 2021 to 2023.

Since then, the market has moderated slightly, with some industry data suggesting prices have softened roughly 10% over the past six to twelve months. This cooling is largely due to increased aircraft availability and the normalization of private aviation demand.

Despite the softening, the Global 5000 remains one of the strongest value propositions in the large-cabin segment, particularly when compared with newer ultra-long-range aircraft that can cost $50–80 million.

Engine Maintenance Programs

The Global 5000 is powered by Rolls-Royce BR710 engines, and aircraft enrolled in Rolls-Royce CorporateCare are typically much easier to sell and command higher prices.

Avionics Upgrades

Cockpit displays and radar are starting to show their age, but there are upgrades available to avoid obsolescence issues.  Cabin management, entertainment and Internet upgrades are available and can vary in cost and scope.

Interior and Paint Condition

Many early Global 5000 aircraft are now approaching interior and paint refurbishment cycles. Aircraft with recently completed refurbishments often command a meaningful premium.  It’s important to note that paint should be considered a maintenance function in protecting the airframe from corrosion, so the age and quality of the paint are important to note.

Is the Global 5000 the right aircraft for your operation?

The Global 5000 offers a combination of:

  • A large-cabin cross-continental aircraft
  • Seating for 10–13 passengers
  • Range of approximately 5,200 nautical miles
  • Access to shorter runways than some ultra-long-range competitors

Because of these capabilities, buyers often view the aircraft as a near-Global-6000 experience with significant savings in the purchase price of the aircraft.

For operators needing transcontinental or international capability without stepping into the price range of newer aircraft, the Global 5000 continues to represent a good value in long-range business aviation.
