Additionally, we take a deep dive into Scott’s passion outside of work: land speed racing. For 20 years, he has traveled to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah to chase records in a 1985 Pontiac Firebird he built himself. It is a fascinating look at how the same precision required for turbine maintenance translates to the world of extreme motorsports.
Fun Fact: Scott’s personal best is 241 MPH, achieved in his Firebird in 2024. He is no stranger to the record books, having previously held the Salt Flats record for the D Engine Class with a top speed of 222.708 MPH in 2008.
