Michael Kussatz

Michael Kussatz brings over 30 years of aviation experience to Duncan Aviation’s Aircraft Sales & Acquisitions team. His unique background combines technical expertise, sales leadership, and hands-on flight experience — providing aircraft owners and operators with well-rounded insight throughout the buying and selling process.

Michael’s passion for aviation began early. He learned to fly at 16 and started at Duncan Aviation at 18, sweeping floors to be near the aircraft he loved. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Technology from Central Missouri State University, he began his professional career in maintenance sales at West Star Aviation.

He returned to Duncan Aviation in 1997, where he spent 12 years in sales and project management. After earning his MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, he served as a Regional Sales Manager at Garmin International before rejoining Duncan Aviation in 2019 as Avionics Sales Manager, supporting the East Coast Satellite Avionics Shop network.

In 2022, Michael also joined Duncan Aviation’s Flight Department, flying the Pilatus PC-12 and Citation XLS. He has logged approximately 4,000 flight hours and holds ATP, CFI, CFII, and MEI/I certifications. His active flight experience gives him firsthand understanding of aircraft performance, operations, and owner priorities.

In late 2025, he joined the Aircraft Sales & Acquisitions team, where he leverages his broad industry experience to guide clients with transparency, technical knowledge, and a long-term perspective. His background across maintenance sales, avionics leadership, and corporate flight operations allows him to help buyers and sellers make informed decisions that best support their operational and financial goals.

Having grown up around Duncan Aviation — watching his father work at the company — Michael developed a deep appreciation for its culture and customer-first values. Today, he continues that legacy by helping clients navigate complex transactions with confidence and clarity.
