LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that former Controller Jamie Harder has assumed the roles of Vice President and CFO and joined the company’s Senior Management Team. In her new roles, Harder will provide leadership for the Accounting Department and the Credit, Information Technology, Materials, and Treasury Services.
“I’m excited to take on these new roles,” says Harder. “In the four years since I joined the Duncan Aviation team, I’ve enjoyed the day-to-day challenges and have especially liked working in such a supportive environment.”
Harder earned a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, and Management at Midland University in Fremont and gained seven years of experience working for Norris Public Power District and BKD, a Lincoln accounting firm. BKD gave Harder the opportunity to learn about various industries and organizations in the community. The knowledge she gleened there has helped her see issues from a customer’s perspective, and that skill is particularly useful when assessing the services Duncan Aviation provides its customers.
“The culture at Duncan Aviation emphasizes providing quality products and innovative solutions for our customers by hiring and retaining team members whose primary responsibility is keeping our customers happy and safe,” says Harder. “I find it inspiring to work with the people who have dedicated their careers to making Duncan Aviation a world-class, family-owned organization that’s highly respected in the aviation industry.”
Harder especially enjoys being a resource for others within the Duncan Aviation community, and she relishes the opportunity to help customers and team members alike understand the importance of finance to the organization, particularly the role of financial ratios, as they are a critical tool to being an effective leader.
Growing up on her family’s cattle farm near Crab Orchard, Neb., Harder realized and enjoyed the sense of accomplishment she felt after a long day’s work.
“Here at Duncan Aviation, I can feel that same sense of community and pride in the work we do. Every time I face a challenge, all I have to do is reach out and ask for help,” says Jamie. “Fellow team members at Duncan Aviation want to see you succeed and are willing to help in any way they can, whether it’s educating me on the industry, giving me advice, or helping me resolve an issue. I’m proud to be a part of an organization that encourages and provides for personal growth and development opportunities for all of its team members.”
In Harder’s free time, she spends as much time outside as possible, and that includes working in the yard, going for long bike rides, golfing, and playing volleyball. She also enjoys traveling, cheering for Husker athletics, going to concerts, and playing with her niece and nephew.
