Not ready to upgrade to a Gogo AVANCE Internet System? Gogo C1 keeps your aircraft connected

December 2024

As the aviation industry increasingly relies on robust inflight connectivity, operators of legacy systems such as the ATG 1000, 2000, 4000, or 5000 must prepare for Gogo’s transition to LTE technology before December 31, 2025. The shift to LTE aims to enhance capacity and improve customer experience for ATG (air-to-ground) connectivity. If the connectivity system on your aircraft is not upgraded, the inflight internet services may be disrupted.

To address this, Gogo introduced the Gogo C1, a transitional yet efficient solution designed to bridge the gap during the network transition while you plan for an upgrade to the advanced AVANCE system.

Why Gogo C1?

  1. Seamless Connectivity During Transition

Gogo C1 ensures legacy ATG system users maintain their current connectivity experience throughout the LTE migration and with the same coverage areas, including the contiguous US and portions of Alaska and Canada.

  1. Minimal Downtime for Installation

Gogo C1 is a form-fit replacement for legacy ATG systems. Installation involves a straightforward LRU (Line-Replaceable Unit) swap, reusing most existing components, including:

    • omnidirectional antennas
    • tray, wires, cabling, and connectors
    • cabin telecommunications router

This approach minimizes downtime and reduces installation complexities, allowing operators to return to service swiftly.

  1. Strategic Path to AVANCE
Gogo C1 serves as a bridge to AVANCE, helping manage installation capacity. Operators upgrading to AVANCE before the end of 2028 can receive a buy-back credit equal to the Gogo C1’s MSRP.

C1 Performance Overview

The Gogo C1 delivers comparable performance to legacy ATG systems, ensuring no disruption in inflight connectivity capabilities. However, it does not introduce performance boosts tied to the LTE network upgrade, positioning it as a continuity-focused solution rather than a long-term enhancement.

Service Plans

Gogo C1 customers will retain their current Gogo Business Aviation service plans, ensuring a seamless transition with no surprises in subscription or operational costs.
