Upgrading Legacy Audio: PS Engineering PAC37 Panels

March 2026

PAC37-2.jpg

Business aircraft operators with older audio systems often face challenges maintaining reliable communication and audio quality in the cockpit and cabin. For aircraft equipped with legacy Baker 1045 audio panels, the PS Engineering PAC37 offers a modern, plug-and-play replacement with enhanced flexibility and features.

PAC37 is Designed for Seamless Replacement

The PAC37 is engineered specifically to replace select Baker 1045 panels, providing a direct upgrade path without extensive modification. It supports up to three audio panels, Pilot, Copilot, and Observer, and integrates easily into existing wiring.

Installation is estimated at approximately 20 labor hours, depending on optional add-ons, and does not require an STC (Supplemental Type Certificate), keeping both costs and downtime to a minimum. Compatible platforms include select Gulfstream, Dassault, Falcon, Piaggio, and Bombardier aircraft. Custom panels can be tailored to match specific airframes and interior aesthetics. This makes the PAC37 a practical and efficient upgrade for operators looking to modernize their aircraft’s audio system without disrupting operations.

PAC37 Advanced Audio Features

The PAC37 features a modern audio-isolation amplifier with a selector and VOX (voice-activated) intercom system. It supports six transceivers, ten navigation receivers, and five additional unswitched inputs for alerts like traffic, EGPWS, autopilot disconnects, and radar altimeter warnings.

Push buttons let pilots and crew choose which sources feed their headsets or cockpit speakers. During transmission, all speaker audio is muted except for unswitched inputs, ensuring critical alerts remain audible. Multiple crew members can transmit on the same COM, and individual volume controls allow independent adjustment for each source.

Modern Connectivity and Flexibility

PAC37 panels include integrated Bluetooth wireless connectivity, allowing streaming from iPads, iPhones, or other devices. Music On/Off and Soft Mute selections let pilots enjoy audio without interfering with critical communications. Additional capabilities expand operational flexibility, making it suitable for aircraft with three crewmembers or jump seats.

Optional features include ANR headset power, satellite phone integration, stereo headsets, and additional unswitched audio inputs. The PAC37 is available in Black or Gunship Gray and includes field-configurable settings that require no laptop.
