In response to the rapidly evolving 5G network rollout, an important Service Bulletin (SB) has been issued for operators of the Falcon 2000EX series. The SB, titled 5G Radio Altimeter Filter Installation (SB F2000EX-500), addresses potential interference risks caused by 5G emissions on aircraft radio altimeter systems. This SB highlights the aircraft manufacturer's proactive approach in ensuring compliance with new regulatory requirements, safeguarding radio altimeter functionality under the influence of 5G signals.
Applicable Aircraft Models and Serial Numbers:
This SB applies to the following Falcon 2000EX variants:
Aircraft lacking modification codes M5144 or M-OPT382 (EASA and FAA approved) are required to undergo this modification to transition to radio altimeter tolerant configuration.
Modification Details
The modification involves installing band-pass filters between the radio altimeter antennas and transceivers. This will effectively block 5G signal interference, ensuring accurate altimeter readings. Specifically:
We recommend that this modification be implemented during your aircraft’s next 12-month or 800 flight-hour inspection.
