Falcon 900: What Is Causing The Wire Staining On Your High Current Feeder Wires?

February 2025

During the general visual inspection of the high-current feeder wires, Duncan Aviation technicians noted the use of factory-installed Adel clamps with black rubber inserts. These rubber inserts stain the outer sheath of the wire, making it appear overheated or burnt. The staining is most often from the rubber on the clamp, but further inspection of the wire is needed to ensure an electrical short/overheating condition has not occurred.
