LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that John Petersen has accepted the position of Regional Manager for the Northwest region of the United States. As an 11-year resident of Puyallup, Washington, Petersen brings with him a vast knowledge of the area and strong relationships with many of Duncan Aviation’s customers.
“When I first moved to this area, I was an Avionics Field Service Engineer for Honeywell for four years before moving to Support Manager and then Sales Representative. Other than my six years in the Navy, I’ve spent my entire career in the business aviation industry,” says Petersen. “Having worked my way up through the technical ranks, I understand both aircraft maintenance and the importance of keeping customers happy.”
Growing up in El Dorado, Kansas, Petersen was familiar with business aviation. His father was a pilot, and his uncle worked for Cessna. After graduating from Hesston High School, Petersen joined the United States Navy, where he lived on submarines and worked as a radio and electronics surveillance measures technician and operator. Returning to Kansas after six years in the Navy, Petersen attended Wichita State, earning a degree in History. While working for an aviation company in Wisconsin, he earned his MBA from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
For years, Petersen has admired how Duncan Aviation treats its customers and gives back to the aviation community, and he’s looking forward to representing the company in the Pacific Northwest.
“I’m very excited that John has elected to join our team. He came highly recommended from a large number of customers based on his history of responding quickly to their needs and assisting them at critical times when they were in a pinch with one of their airplanes,” says Sales Manager Phil Suglia.
With the ongoing expansion at Duncan Aviation’s Provo, Utah, facility, John has the resources and backing to support all business aircraft needs, from scheduled inspections to large modifications and paint to AOG.
“The customers I’ve spoken with are pleased that Duncan Aviation in Provo has one of the most environmentally friendly paint facilities in the country. It’s a world-class facility, and it’s generating quite a bit of excitement in the Northwest,” says Petersen. “Duncan Aviation’s capabilities are amazing! The three main facilities in Lincoln, Nebraska, Battle Creek, Michigan, and Provo, Utah, really can do it all; customers rave about Duncan Aviation. The Satellite Shops and RRTs also do a fantastic job of taking care of local customers and have often been the only help in the area for customers in the Pacific Northwest.
Because his work life entails a great deal of travel, when Petersen is home, he and his family spend time together barbecuing with friends and doing touristy things in the Seattle area. With three daughters, they also take full advantage of the myriad outdoor activities that the Northwest has to offer.
